First Youth

First UMC Youth is a great place for students in grades 7 through 12 to grow in their faith, make friends, and serve their community!  There are many opportunities to learn and connect with others.  We would love to have you! Junior High and Senior High meet every Sunday at 10 a.m.

Junior High Impact Group meets at 5:30 p.m. on Sundays for Crosstraining.

Crosstraining consists of games and a time of learning how to live out your faith in practical ways.

Senior High Impact Group meets at 7:00 p.m. in small group leaders’ homes.

This small group explores many different and relevant topics in our world today, and equips students to own their faith in an ever-changing world.

Junior High Students have an opportunity to serve in Kansas City, Missouri this summer on July 10 – 15

They will serve with local organizations that are working year-round to improve life for residents in the community. This will include serving at Harvester’s, which is the largest food bank in the Kansas City area and Home of the Good Shepherd. Students will also have the opportunity to work with Upper Room, a tutoring/ reading program for kids where YouthWorks volunteers sit and read with students in order to improve their reading.  Evening activities include getting to watch and learn about Scandinavian dancing and help facilitate a community cookout.

Senior High Students will serve in the Dominican Republic from June 25 – July 3.

They will be working on construction projects and leading children in a Vacation Bible School.  Relationship building will be the primary focus as they share the love of Christ with families in the area.
