First Youth

First UMC Youth is a great place for students in grades 5th through 12th to grow in their faith, make friends, and serve their community!  There are many opportunities to learn and connect with others.  We would love to have you!

5th-8th Grade Youth are meeting at 10am on Sundays in the Journey classrooms upstairs for

games and a time of learning how to live out your faith in practical ways.

Senior High Youth (9th-12th Grades) are meeting Sundays at 7pm in small group leaders' homes for dinner and Bible study.  They explore many different and relevant topics, and equip students to own their faith in an ever-changing world.

Students of First UMC had the opportunity to serve the people of San Rafael, Dominican Republic this summer on June 23 – July 1, 2018. Here is what they said:

“I think it’s definitely brought me closer to God. I feel more service in my relationship with Him and my relationship with others. I don’t want to hold back anymore. I won’t be bashful in my faith and I won’t be afraid to show how I feel Christ moving in me.” – Lilly

“My biggest take away from this is I need to spend more time with God. Without having my phone for this week, I have really gained friendships that I don’t believe I would’ve gotten if I would have had my phone. So, from now on, I plan on putting my phone down for 20-30 minutes a day and talk to God and see what He wants me to do.” – Gracie

“Serving others has had an impact on my walk with Christ. I saw God at work in many places, many people and even myself. Working with the people of San Rafael, I learned how powerful their love for Christ is. They have little to nothing, but are some of the happiest people who love God with all their hearts, minds and souls. I truly believe it will make a HUGE difference if I lived each day with the same compassion and love that focused on Jesus and others like I have on this mission trip.”
